Think in lines.
Work in volumes.

The familiar draw-and-pull workflow.
Reconsidered for a pen, not a mouse.
The interaction we're building toward.

01

Draw the footprint.

Sketch a closed rectangle on the ground. A simple line is the start of a real space.

02

Make it exact.

Enter 3.20 m or 3200 mm on the on-screen keypad. Your drawing, at the size you mean.

03

Pull a line into a wall.

Lift the face to give it height. A plan becomes a volume you can turn around and inspect.

04

Give the space an opening.

Cut a doorway through the wall. Orbit the model to see how the room comes together.

A good pen.
A capable tablet.
Why stop at 2D?

Penloft starts with the Android tablet you already use, and the spaces you want to make.

Pen-first modeling shouldn't
require an iPad.

SketchUp for iPad and Shapr3D show what's possible on a tablet. Their pen-focused tablet experiences don't extend to Android. That's the workflow Penloft is being built for.

Shapr3D No Android support

SketchUp retired its Android Viewer on 29 August 2025. It was a viewer, not a modeling editor. Read the notice.

Other 3D tools exist on Android. Our focus is narrower: a stylus-first, measured push/pull workflow. Platform sources checked 8 October 2026.

New ways to draw.
Open roots.

Penloft is being built on Hew, the open-source, solids-first 3D modeler. We are building a pen-and-touch experience on that foundation, not claiming its geometry work as our own.

Explore Hew on GitHub

Hew: GNU AGPL-3.0-only, with the Hew Plugin API Exception. Penloft's derived core must respect those terms. This page's 3D demo uses Three.js, not the Hew kernel.
